Christmas morning shooter gets 5 years in prison
YOUNGSTOWN — A man who pleaded guilty to a shooting Christmas morning was sentenced today to five years in prison in Mahoning County Common Pleas Court.
Andrew Stigal, 19, of East Florida Avenue, was sentenced by Judge R. Scott Krichbaum on five counts of felonious assault with firearm specifications attached.
Stigal was arrested at about 1 a.m. Dec. 25 at Gibson and East Avondale avenues. Police said he was firing a gun from the sunroof of a car at another car. Those occupants called police.
The co-defendant in the case, Jalisha Wylie, 18, of Girard, had her 8-month-old baby in the car and an 18-month-old child was in the car that was being shot at, reports said.
No one was injured. Wylie's case is still pending.
