AUCTIONS
• St. Nicholas School, 762 Fifth St., Struthers, will host a quarter auction March 19 in the church’s Great Hall. Doors open at 5:15 p.m., and the auction begins at 6. Crafts, household items and an assortment of gift cards are available to win. Seating is limited. Cost is $5 per person, which provides a bid paddle and door prize ticket. The event is for adults only. Take your own beverages and snacks. Snack bar items will be sold, and profits will benefit the seventh and eighth-grade class trip. BINGO/CARD PARTIES
• St. Michael’s Garden Guild will host a white elephant bingo night at 7 p.m. March 16 at St. Michael’s Family Life Center in Canfield. Take one or two wrapped gifts, used or new, to be used for prizes. All guests will leave with a prize. Refreshments will be served by hostesses Cookie Beeman and Kaye Smith. BOOK SALES
• Friends of the Warren Library will offer a book sale for members from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and for the public from 12:30 to 3 p.m. April 16 in the Thomas Room of the library, 444 Mahoning Ave.
CRAFT SHOWS
• Canfield Lions Club will host its annual spring craft, antique and quilt show from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at Canfield High School, 100 Cardinal Drive. The event will include over 100 vendors, a basket auction, raffle, hot food, and free admission and free parking. Proceeds from the event will benefit local charitable Lions programs.
• Wilmington Township Civic League will host its 13th annual quilt show from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. March 19 at the Wilmington Township Municipal Building, 35 Auction Road, New Wilmington, Pa. Patricia Turner’s quilts will be featured during the show. Admission is $2, and refreshments are available. Some quilts on display will be available to buy. Wilmington Township Mercer County Civic League Quilters will raffle a “Grandmother’s Fan” quilt at its annual garage sale May 14; raffle tickets may be purchased for $1 each or six for $5. • Northminster Presbyterian Church, 2434 Wilmington Road, New Castle, Pa., will host its spring arts and craft show from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday. Author Susan Dexter of New Castle and Cathy Hester Seckman of Calcutta, Ohio, will be guests. Books for sale will include the subjects of fantasy, mystery, young adult and local history.
FUNDRAISERS
• Jackson-Milton High School National Honor Society will host a Spring Extravaganza from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. April 7 at the high school, 13910 Mahoning Ave., North Jackson. Table rentals are available for $25 for vendors and sales consultants; no vendor will be duplicated. All money raised from table rentals will be donated to the Austintown Relay for Life on behalf of Team J-M NHS. Those who rent tables also are asked to donate an item or basket to be raffled at the relay. Reservation deadline is Tuesday. • Western Reserve United Methodist Church, 4580 Canfield Road, Canfield, will host a benefit spaghetti dinner for local and international orphans with seating at 4 and 6 p.m. March 19. Dinner will include meatballs, salad, bread, dessert and beverages. Cost is $10 for adults, $7 for children 4 to 10 and free for those 3 and under. Takeouts are available. TRIPS
• Leetonia Class of 2017 will host a red-eye bus trip to New York City on April 8 for $100 per person. Those under 18 years of age must be accompanied by an adult. The group will depart from the high school, 450 Walnut St., at 11 p.m. April 8 and arrive at Grand Central Station early Saturday morning. Participants are free to explore and dine throughout the city as they choose. Guests will board at 9 p.m. April 9 and return to the school at 5 a.m. April 10. • Our Lady of Fatima — St. Ann Church, 601 Roemer Blvd., Farrell, Pa., will offer bus trips as a fundraiser for repairs of its church organ. A trip to Seneca Allegany Casino in Salamanca, N.Y., is set for June 14 and 15. Lodging in the casino’s hotel is $155 per person for a double room occupancy with $70 in bonus rebates. A bus trip to Soaring Eagle Casino Resort in Mount Pleasant, Mich., will be Sept. 13 to 15. Hotel rooms will be $304 per person for double occupancy with a $100 bonus.
