Pick a Guitar 4 a Cause event set for Thursday

A Way With Words Foundation will sponsor “Pick a Guitar 4 a Cause” at 6 p.m. Thursday at Stambaugh Auditorium, 1000 Fifth Ave.

Compco Industries and DeBartolo Corp. also are sponsors.

Tickets are $75 at the door and will include a catered buffet dinner, open bar and entertainment.

Painted acoustic and electric guitars, other autographed instruments and records will be featured in an auction.

All proceeds will benefit A Way With Words to help cancer patients and family members cope with cancer and nonmedical needs like gas cards, blankets, toys for kids, musical instruments for children, rent, groceries and utilities.
