Jennings hosts maple sugaring event March 20

SLIPPERY ROCK, PA.

Jennings Environmental Education Center, 2951 Prospect Road, will host a maple-sugaring event at 2 p.m. March 20.

Participants are invited to discover how sap taken from a maple tree becomes syrup.

The event will begin with an indoor presentation that unravels the mystery of how a tree functions and considers the benefits derived from these perennial giants.

The presentation will be followed by a guided, outdoor walk featuring a working evaporator and a taste of real maple syrup. The nature shop will be stocked with a variety of local maple products.

This annual, free program is open to the public. Registration is not required.
