Harding girls 5th; Fitch boys 13th in state indoor meet

Two second-place finishes by Justice Richardson lifted the Warren Harding High School girls track team to a fifth-place finish in Saturday’s indoor state meet at the University of Akron.
Warren Harding finished with 26 points. Gahanna Lincoln won the meet with 56.5 points, followed by Centerville with 51. Fitch scored nine points to tie for 27th. Boardman was 37th with four points.
Fitch thrower Logan Kusky had two fifth-place finishes to help the Falcons boys team finish tied for 13th place with Midpark. Both scored 13 points. Pickerington Central won with 54 points, 10 more than Centerville.
In the 60 dash, Richardson was second with a time of 7.47 seconds. Dublin Coffman’s Abby Steiner won with 7.38.
In the 200 dash, Richardson was second with a time of 25.11. The winner was Steiner with 24.07.
In the boys field events, Kusky was fifth in the shot put with a throw of 54 feet 8 inches.
Three Mahoning Valley competitors placed in the top 15. Fitch’s Jake Dorbish was 11th with 48-8, Canfield’s Andrew Hallof was 13th with 48-2 and Boardman’s Jason Jama was 14th with 47-5.
In the weight throw, Kusky was fifth with 69-7, one place behind Fitch’s Brent Fairbanks at 72. Hallof was 16th with 44-0.75.
In the 400 dash, Warren Harding’s Theran Hargrove (51.91) was 10th while Boardman’s Brendan Lucas (22.83) was 11th in the 200.
In the 880 relay, Fitch was 11th and Harding was 13th.
In the 3200 relay, Fitch was 10th. In the 1600 relay, the Falcons were 12th.
For the girls, Warren Harding’s Aisha Jackson was second in the 60 hurdles (8.98).
In the 800, Fitch’s Lauren Dolak (2:22.06) was 10th and Canfield’s Raquel Markulin (2:27.49) was 14th.
In the high jump, Boardman’s Logan Mitchell (5-4) was fifth. In the long jump, Fitch’s Khala Cameron (15-5) was 14th.
In the weight throw, Fitch’s Grace Morrison (41-5.5) was 8th.
In the 800 relay, Fitch (1:46.08) was 9th, Boardman (1:47.94) was 13th and Warren Harding (1:51.89) was 17th.
In the 1600 relay, Fitch (4:00.04) was second and Warren Harding (4:04.16) was seventh.
