Liberty in Bloom, a small group of volunteers who plant flowers in the township, is seeking volunteers. The group plants 26 beds, which can be viewed at libertytwp.com. Anyone who cannot help by planting, but would like to make a tax-deductible donation can do so by making out a check to Liberty Township (Liberty in Bloom), 1315 Church Hill-Hubbard Road, Youngstown, Ohio, 44505. Free cone day

BOARDMAN

Dairy Queen locations nationwide will offer each guest a free small cone March 15 in an effort to raise awareness and funds for local Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals across the country.

Locally, Free Cone Day promotions will take place at participating Dairy Queens in Mahoning, Trumbull, Columbiana and Mercer counties, with all proceeds from these local events benefiting Akron Children’s Hospital Mahoning Valley, the local Children’s Miracle Network Hospital. In 2015, local DQ locations raised $35,500 through their year-round fundraising for the hospital, with more than $5,000 raised during Free Cone Day.

Lake Park Cemetery

YOUNGSTOWN

Lake Park Cemetery will begin its spring cleanup. All artificial decorations, including Christmas wreaths, must be removed by March 15.

Glenview Cemetery

EAST PALESTINE

All flowers and decorations at Glenview Cemetery must be removed by March 15 or they will be discarded. Spring and summer decorations may be put on the graves as of April 1. Call 330-426-4367, ext. 19, for information.

Condo presentation

CANFIELD

The Planning and Zoning Department will meet at 6:30 p.m. Thursday in the city administration building, 104 Lisbon St., to discuss digital signs for the city. Before the meeting, Sam Pitzulo Homes & Remodeling will give a formal presentation about his plans for demolition and the development of condos on the property at 275 N. Broad St.

Fundraiser for kids

O’Donold’s Irish Pub & Grill, 6000 Mahoning Ave., is hosting a fundraising event for The St. Baldrick’s Foundation to raise money toward pediatric cancer research. A head-shaving event will take place from 1-6 p.m. Saturday, with more than 15 bands lined up to perform. Anyone interested in supporting the event by having their head shaved, serving as a head shaver, volunteering or just donating can register at www.stbaldricks.org/events/odonoldspub2016.
