Students at Poland Union Elementary celebrated their Valentine’s Day on Feb. 10 before their long weekend off school.
The day started off like a normal school day, but at the end the children were able to pass out candy to each other and make their own ice cream sundaes.
The students made their own Valentine’s Day treat boxes for their classmates to put Valentine’s Day cards and treats in.
There were several different kinds of boxes, from robots to snakes and even a make-up mirror with lights.
The students were excited to celebrate Valentine’s Day on their last day of the school week. Union had a three-day week, and during that time they also celebrated Start With Hello week.
Principal Mike Masucci credited the PTO for the success of the event.
“I want to thank members of our PTO council for organizing today’s Valentine’s parties,” said Masucci.
The PTO helped organize the Valentine’s Day parties by getting the ice cream and all of the other supplies necessary to host the event. Additionally, they went to the schools and helped out the teachers with the ice cream and other treats.
