US Marshals arrest suspect in Boardman jewelry store break-in

BOARDMAN — Members of the U.S. Marshals Service on Wednesday apprehended the suspect in an August jewelry store break-in.

Anthony Carson, 19, of Struthers, is charged with breaking and entering for the incident at Direct Jewelry Outlet, 1235 Boardman-Canfield Road.

An Aug. 20 police report details the incident, in which a suspect purportedly smashed a door and several jewelry cases, and stole an estimated $1,000 worth of jewelry.

The search at the time led police into Mill Creek Park, where officers found jewelry in the store parking lot, strewn across Boardman-Canfield Road and in the park.

Carson is in the Mahoning County jail and is scheduled to appear in Mahoning County Area Court here later today.
