INCOME-TAX INCREASE

A proposed 0.5 percent increase in the Niles income-tax rate is on the March 15 ballot. The city estimates it will raise about $2 million per year.

Sample administrator salaries (annual base wages): light superintendent $63,720, police captain $70,338.

Other sample salaries (annual base wages): meter readers, $36,379; tree trimmer, $41,413; payroll clerk, $41,205.

PARKS LEVY

A proposed 1-mill, five-year replacement levy for parks and recreation to raise $249,127 annually. The current levy raises $159,721 annually, or $89,406 less than the new levy will generate.
