Kym Baker of Canfield is the winner of The Vindicator’s Best of Film contest. She correctly picked 18 of the 20 categories in the Oscar Awards.

For her expertise, she won a $200 gift card from Rulli Bros. supermarkets.

Baker, who works at Akron Children’s Hospital, has entered the contest the past couple of years, but this is the first time she won.

She two categories she missed were Supporting Actor (she went with Sylvester Stallone, but Mark Rylance was the winner), and Visual Effects (she picked “Star Wars” over “Ex Machina”).

The Vindicator received 246 entries in the contest, which is up from last year’s total of 207 entries.

Baker was the only one that picked 18 correct. No one picked 17 correct, but 11 entries were tied at 16 correct.

In keeping with contest rules, two ballots were randomly drawn from the entries with 16 correct to determine the second- and third-place winners.

Second place went to Mike Orwell of Boardman, who received a $100 gift card from Rulli Bros. Third place went to Charlie McQuillan of Youngstown, who received a $50 gift card from Rulli Bros.
