Campbell men cited for open-container violations

CAMPBELL — A traffic stop Wednesday afternoon led to citations for violating the city's open-container law.

Police stopped a car near Burger King on McCartney Road about 3:45 p.m. because a license plate check listed the car's registered owner as having a suspended license, according to a police report.

Officers found multiple open alcoholic containers in the car, the report states.

The car's driver Alden Manning, 63, and the passenger, James Hemrick, 61, both of Campbell, were both cited for violating the open-container law. Manning is also charged with driving under suspension, and Hemrick is charged with failing to comply with a court order.
