“The Real O’Neals” (8:30 P.M., ABC): “The Real O’Neals” is one of the more promising family sitcoms we’ve seen in a while. Martha Plimpton (“Raising Hope”) and Jay Ferguson (“Mad Men”) star as the Irish-Catholic parents of a seemingly perfect family that scrambles to hold things together when its secrets start spilling out.
“Hap and Leonard” (10 p.m., SundanceTV): Described as a “darkly comic swamp noir,” the six-episode series “Hap and Leonard” is set in the late 1980s and tracks a group of eccentric characters as a simple get-rich-quick scheme snowballs into bloody mayhem. James Purefoy, Michael Kenneth Williams and Christina Hendricks star. See story at right.
