City police arrested five people on felony drug charges over the weekend and seized more than $3,900 in cash, while a sixth person was arrested by the Ohio State Highway Patrol.

Arraigned Monday before Judge Elizabeth Kobly on charges of possession of cocaine, possession of drugs and driving under suspension was Ricky Paige, 29, of Pointview Avenue.

Reports said Paige was arrested about 3:20 p.m. Sunday after police pulled over a car he was driving at West Chalmers and Overland avenues for an illegal lane change. Reports said Paige was putting his hands in his pockets and continued to fidget when he was ordered out of his car after it was discovered his license had been suspended.

Police found a pill and a small bag of crack cocaine along with $262 cash, reports said. Judge Kobly set his bond at $15,000. His girlfriend, Shawntasia Moreland, 21, of Nielson Avenue, was charged with wrongful entrustment, reports said, because she knew he had no license yet allowed him to driver her car.

Arrested just before midnight Saturday was Anthony Cleveland, 24, of Chaney Circle, after he was pulled over by vice squad officers Jimmy Hughes Jr. and Mike Quinn for an improper turn at West Evergreen and Hillman avenues. Reports said Cleveland appeared very nervous but allowed officers to search the car, which was a rental car registered in a relative’s name. Cleveland has several suspensions on his license and he would not spread his feet for officers to search him, reports said. When he was searched, officers found $1,350 cash in his pants and he was taken into custody for having a suspended license.

At the Mahoning County jail, corrections officers found a large bag of suspected heroin and three pills in Cleveland’s clothes, reports said. He was arraigned before Judge Kobly on charges of driving under suspension, possession of drugs and a second-degree felony charge of possession of heroin because of the large amount that was found. His bond was set at $40,000.

About 7:05 p.m. Saturday, Roger Lee Anderson, 55, of Delaware Avenue, was stopped at Glenwood and Almyra avenues for an improper turn, and police found a bag of suspected crack cocaine on the floor of the car and Anderson had $100 cash on him, reports said. Reports said when Anderson was booked into the jail, corrections officers found $1,000 in his boots. He was arraigned on a charge of possession of cocaine. His bond was set at $5,000.

About 11:30 p.m. Friday, Michael Bair, 35, of Boardman, was arrested on a charge of possession of cocaine after he was found with two bags of crack cocaine in his car and a digital scale after a traffic stop at Boston and Idlewood avenues for running a stop sign, reports said. His bond was set at $5,000.

About 9:50 p.m. Friday, Timothy Beacham, 50, of Hayes Avenue, was arrested after a traffic stop on the Madison Avenue Expressway for no front license plate light. Reports said the car smelled heavily of marijuana and a police dog found a dose of suspected crack cocaine next to where Beacham, who was a passenger in the car, was sitting. Judge Kobly set him free on his own recognizance.

The driver of the car, Erwin Adams, 49, of Youngstown, had six pills on him after he was searched by police, reports said, and he also admitted to smoking marijuana. He was taken to the jail on three counts of possession of drugs because of the different types of pills he had. Assistant Prosecutor Jeffrey Moliterno did tell the judge that some of the pills Adams had he also has a prescription for. His bond was set at $12,000.

Reports said Donte Perry, 24, of Dearborn Avenue, had $1,230 cash on him, and police found suspected crack cocaine dissolving in a water bottle in his car after he was pulled over about 8:50 p.m. Friday on South Schenley Avenue near Mahoning Avenue for an illegal turn. Court records show he faces a charge of driving under suspension, but no drug charges have been filed as of yet. Jail records show Perry was released Monday after a court order.

Arrested by the state patrol was Gregory Dunkle, 52, of Boston Avenue, who was pulled over about 12:53 a.m. Monday at South and Dewey avenues for not having a license plate light. Reports said Dunkle had three warrants from municipal court, and in a pill holder a trooper found broken pieces of suspected crack cocaine, and he had two bags of crack cocaine in his sock, reports said. Judge Kobly set his bond at more than $15,000.
