Taken into custody

YOUNGSTOWN

Reports said a 40-year-old man agreed to go to St. Elizabeth Youngstown Hospital on Monday morning for a mental health evaluation after he walked into the lobby of 21 WFMJ-TV, 101 W. Boardman St., about 9:20 a.m. with a gas can and a lighter.

Reports said a station employee told police she saw the man on a video camera enter the lobby and try to get on an elevator. When the man was told he would need to fill out a card to gain access to the elevator, reports said he held up the gas tank and lighter before walking away.

The man did not make any threats, reports said.

The man then walked over to the police department garage across the street, where he was taken into custody without incident.
