YSU offices being shuffled

YOUNGSTOWN — If you haven’t been on Youngstown State University’s campus lately, some offices may not be where you remember them.

Several offices have changed locations this past spring, or are changing this summer.

“One of the driving reasons here is the creation of a student success center in Jones Hall, and the idea is to consolidate all of those services in one place to better serve students,” said Ron Cole, university spokesman.

YSU’s human-resources department moved from the third floor of Jones to the third floor of Tod Hall with other administrative offices.

The assessment, degree audit, general education and associate degree/technical prep programs on Tod’s third floor are moving to the third floor of Jones.

The new center will be named for Frank and Norma Watson of Canfield, who last month donated $1 million for its development. The couple are the in-laws of YSU President Jim Tressel.
