Travel Channel 7 water slides to ride

From trapdoor body slides to dueling water coasters, Travel Channel has announced seven high-octane water slides for adrenaline junkies to ride in the United States this summer. In its new season of “Xtreme Waterparks,” premiering tonight, the network reveals some of the most insane water rides. Water slides in the United States that make the grade on the Travel Channel list include:

Beach Blasters, Hawaiian Falls Waterpark, Roanoke, Texas. World’s only side-by-side dueling raft slide where guests can race each other to the finish line. With a 60-foot drop from the top, “Beach Blasters” launches two separate, two-person rafts simultaneously, in opposite directions, into dark, enclosed tubes that are then propelled into a massive open-air “bowl.” Each raft swirls around before funneling down into its own porthole and splashing into its respective finish lane.

Breaker’s Plunge, Soak City Waterpark, Minn. Soak City Waterpark in Shakopee, Minn., hosts America’s tallest twin body slide with dual 90-foot, high-speed freefall slides that plunge riders down the 65-degree angle drop at 40 miles per hour.

Dive Bomber, Six Flags White Water, Ga. One of the tallest body slides in America. A launch capsule at the top holds riders until a trapdoor suddenly opens to a 10-story, heart-stopping plunge.

Maximum Velocity, Wet ’N’ Wild, Phoenix, Ariz. On this side-by-side dueling water coaster, thrill seekers race in two-person rafts down side-by-side 830-foot-long tracks.

The Rattler, Wet ’N’ Wild, Las Vegas, Nev. Four-person rafts travel through 360 feet of twists and turns that shake the rafts back and forth, creating some serious wall time.

Royal Flush, BSR Cable Park, Waco, Texas. A trio of 120-foot-long slides of varying heights. Riders shoot down the steep grades before being launched into the air, allowing them ample time for back flips before they come splashing down into the lake below.

Scorpion’s Tail, Noah’s Ark, Wisconsin Dells, Wisc. America’s largest waterpark features the country’s first nearly vertical water-slide loop. “Scorpion’s Tail” sits 10 stories high and drops riders more than 50 feet per second. A trapdoor from the tower releases riders down the 400-foot slide, then twists and turns guests around a loop with 3Gs of force. And for those riders who don’t fully make it around the loop, a special built-in escape hatch can be used.
