Lists of vacation Bible schools open to the public will be published on the Religion page. Please include the following information: the complete name of the church; address with city or township; time, date and location of sessions; program theme; ages or grades; and whether it’s free or there is a fee. Information should be submitted two weeks before the school’s opening or its registration deadline. The Religion deadline is 5 p.m. Wednesday for publication that Saturday. Ellsworth Community Church, formerly Ellsworth Presbyterian Church, 11171 Akron-Canfield Road, Ellsworth: “Cave Quest — Come Hang with Us” is planned from 9 a.m. to noon July 11-15. Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, 4490 Norquest Blvd., Austintown: New VBS being offered on the theme, “Superhero Summer Spectacular,” for children and adults. Sessions will be from 5:30 to 8 p.m. July 10-14 with supper provided each evening by different parish committees. Participants will share a Bible story as a group then break into age groups; there will be a speaker for adults. There also will be music and crafts. Prince of Peace Evangelical Lutheran Church, 2985 Center Road, Poland: “Fruit of the Spirit” is set from 6 to 8:30 p.m. July 11-15 for children entering kindergarten through fifth grade. The activity is free. Register by July 8 by calling the church office 330-757-3272.

Smith Corners United Methodist Church, 3000 S. Canfield-Niles Road, Austintown: “Surf Shack: Catch the Wave of God’s Amazing Grace” will be the theme of the activity from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. July 5-9. Activities are geared to 3- to 12-year-olds. Lunch and snacks will be provided, with crafts, music, science and games. Carrie Zitkovic and Megan Bodnar are coordinators. Western Reserve United Methodist Church, 4580 Canfield Road, Canfield: “Pets Unleashed” is the theme of the activity set from 5 to 8 p.m. July 8 with pizza. Pets may attend; the Rev. Russ Adams will conduct blessings. Another session will be 10 a.m. July 9 with hot dogs. The program is for children up to the sixth grade. Westminster Presbyterian Church, 119 Stadium Drive, Boardman: “Safari! An Adventure Through Scriptures” is the theme of a joint program of St. Charles Borromeo Church and Bethel Lutheran Church, both Boardman, planned from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. July 11-15 for children 4 years old through fourth grade.
