Park to offer geocaching night

SALEM

A PowerPoint presentation on geocaching by Mark and Shawna L’Italian will be from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. July 6 in the Quaker Room of Salem Public Library, 821 E. State St. Geocaching is an outdoor activity that uses a Global Positioning System (GPS) to find locations of hidden treasure caches. It is a family-friendly way to spend time in nature and sharpen geography skills. Following the presentation attendees can visit one of Salem’s parks to search for a cache.

This program, hosted by the library and Salem Parks and Recreation Department, is another offering in the Go Wild in the Parks series. Family and friends are welcome at this free activity. Registration is requested online at www.salem.lib.oh.us, or call the library at 330-332-0042 or Shane Franks, Salem Parks Department, 330-332-5512.
