SPECIAL TO THE VINDICATOR Mahoning County Junior Fair Board members and advisers met in June at the cattle complex at Canfield Fairgrounds where individual and group pictures were taken by photographer Tammy Brooks. Seven youth organizations have representatives on the Junior Fair Board, they are 4-H clubs, Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts, Camp Fire Boys and Girls, Farm Bureau Youth, Junior Grange and Future Farmers of America. The theme for this year’s Youth Day on Sept. 1 at the fair is “A Day at the Beach.” Junior Fair participants ages 15 to 18 are eligible to apply for the Outstanding Youth Court. Applications are available at www.mcjrfair.com. Many scholarships also are available online. The Junior Fair is hosting its Rooster 5K Run/Walk on Sept. 4. It is open to the public for youth and adults. Sign up at runsignup.com or at the website above and click on Rooster Run 2016. Youth and adults are invited to participate in the annual Junior Fair Coloring Contest. Coloring pages can be found at Junior Fair events or at the Canfield Fair administration office on the fairgrounds. Look for the Junior Fair Board’s float in the July 4 parade in Canfield. The next meeting will be July 21 at the Junior Fair Restaurant at the fairgrounds.
