Celebrate Feast Day on July 5

YOUNGSTOWN

Youngstown branch of the Slovak Catholic Federation, which serves the Diocese of Youngstown, will celebrate the traditional Feast Day of Sts. Cyril and Methodius on July 5 at Sts. Cyril and Methodius Church of Our Lady of Sorrows Parish, 252 E. Wood St.

The Mass will begin at 5:30 p.m. with a gathering to follow in the social hall, where a picnic-style array of food and refreshments will be served.

The feast of the brothers remains a national holiday on this date in Slovakia, even after the liturgical calendar moved the commemoration to February after Vatican II. The church and hall are handicap-accessible via an elevator that can be entered from the outside through the door facing the parish house at the base of the ramp. All are welcome.
