The woman said she was walking with a friend when a gray vehicle stopped across the street from her, and the driver, whom she did not know, got out and started throwing rocks at her.

She started to run away, and the man got in the car and tried to hit her, but she “jumped out of the way.”

YOUNGSTOWN

Jonathan M. Lawrence, 58, of Garrettsville, was sentenced to six months in prison, six months of house arrest and ordered to pay restitution of $160,000 for failing to pay employment taxes that he withheld from his employees’ paychecks.

During the time of the crimes, Lawrence was president and chief executive officer of Laurenco Systems of Ohio LLC, a company he established in 2006 with an office in Leavittsburg.

Over four years, Lawrence collected $350,000 of income taxes, Medicare and Social Security taxes from his employees’ paychecks, then failed to turn it over to the federal government, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office for Northern Ohio and IRS.

He also failed to pay the employer’s portion of the taxes – about $111,000 – to the IRS, the release says.

The government already has collected $140,000 from Lawrence.
