v Steel Valley Supernationals, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.: Thousands of hot rods and restored classic cars will be on display at this festival ($8, children under 10 free) at Canfield Fairgrounds; steelvalleysupernationals.com.

v St. Christine Parish Festival, 6 to 11 p.m.: This large annual festival returns ($3) for the weekend. The church is at the corner of South Schenley and Canfield Road on Youngstown’s West Side. There also is a festival this weekend at St. Jude/Lady of Lourdes church, 180 Seventh St., Columbiana (free admission).

v Leon Russell: The legendary songwriter and Americana rocker will perform outdoors at Bojangles, 48400 state Route 14, New Waterford ($40, bojanglesblues.com). Opening the show will be the TC Davis Band and the Chub Scouts Band. Gates open at 5 p.m.

Steelathlon race returns Saturday

YOUNGSTOWN

The third annual Steelathlon, an obstacle-course race in an urban setting, will return Saturday in the downtown area.

A challenging and fun experience for people of all ages and fitness levels, the Steelathlon benefits the Rescue Mission of the Mahoning Valley and celebrates the history of downtown Youngstown.

Participants will receive a T-shirt and other items, and there will be refreshments, music and prizes after the race at Covelli Centre. The registration fee is $55 ($60 on race day); teams of five or more people will receive a discount of $5 each.

Senior-citizen art show at YMCA

The Davis Family YMCA on McClurg Road is presenting “Centered: Slightly Off-Center, its sixth annual senior-citizen art show, now through July 3.

More than 60 residents from eight area assisted- living and specialty-care centers have entered drawings and paintings.

Cash prizes will be given in each group, with additional prizes awarded for overall Best of Show and other categories.

An artists’ reception will take place Sunday from 12:30 to 2 p.m. It is free and open go the public.
