OVI checkpoint tonight on state Route 45 in Columbiana County
LISBON — The Ohio State Highway patrol, in conjunction with the Columbiana County Sheriff’s office, Perry Township police department and Salem Police Department, announced today that an operating a vehicle impaired checkpoint will be from 7 to 11 p.m. today on state Route 45, milepost 23 in Columbiana County.
The checkpoint, funded by general grant funds, is planned to deter and intercept impaired drivers. The checkpoint will also take place in conjunction with nearby saturation patrols to aggressively combat alcohol-related injury and fatal crashes, according to a patrol news release.
