Gunfire results in a pair of city arrests

YOUNGSTOWN — A juvenile and a 27-year-old man were taken into custody Wednesday afternoon while police were investigating a fight with gunfire.

Cory Dodd, 27, is in the Mahoning County jail on charges of felonious assault and discharging a firearm in city limits. The juvenile, whose name was withheld by police, is facing the same charges. He is in the Martin P. Joyce Juvenile Justice Center.

Reports said the two were arrested while police were investigating a fight with gunfire about 3:30 p.m. in the 3500 block of Valerie Drive.

No one was injured. Police found a 9mm shell casing at the scene.
