Ensemble plans Cedars performance

West End Ensemble, a classical string trio and quartet, will perform at 8 p.m. Sunday at Cedars West End. Admission is $5.

The program includes works by Beethoven, Bach,and Mozart.

The ensemble, led by Vince Scachetti, viola, also includes Joseph Kromholz, professor of violin at Youngstown State University; Paul Miahky, assistant principal cello in Canton Symphony; and Tina Gant, violinist with Youngstown Symphony.

Sunday’s concert will be the ensemble’s first in a year, and the only one on the schedule at this time, although more are in the works.

The ensemble performs classical music in “outside the box” times and location, in an effort to stir interest in the music, said Scachetti.
