Authorities: Pa. contractor dies after trench collapse
LEBANON, Pa. (AP) — Authorities say a Pennsylvania contractor who was buried above his waist when a trench collapsed earlier this week has died.
Dauphin County Coroner Graham Hetrick said Tuesday that 52-year-old Nathan Halteman has died.
The Bethel Township man was building a silo at a farm in South Lebanon Township when the 15-foot trench collapsed on him Monday morning. Rescue crews pulled him from the trench within about 30 minutes and he was taken to a hospital, where he died later that day.
The incident remains under investigation.
