PNC doles out $55K in grants to Valley organizations that serve preschools

YOUNGSTOWN — Nine Mahoning Valley organizations that serve preschools received a combined $55,000 in grants from PNC.

The grants are for youth programs in science, technology and arts education, field trips, summer preschool andm home services to children and their families.

“We recognize the role kindergarten readiness plays in the well being of children, their families and ultimately, our economy,” Ted Schmidt, PNC regional president for Youngstown and East Ohio, said in a news release.

PNC announced the grants this morning at OH WOW! The Roger and Gloria Jones Children Center for Science and Technology as children from the YWCA of Youngstown’s preschool explored the exhibits.
