WARREN TOWNSHIP
Police Chief Don Bishop says the various investigators involved in Saturday's double homicide at Shorty's bar on Highland Avenue Southwest have received cooperation from the 50 to 60 witnesses police encountered when they arrived.
One of the two dead men have been identified and his family has been notified but not the other, and both men's names will be released later today, Bishop said.
So far, three people are known to have been injured, but there are indication there sre others because of reports of a number of people seeking medical supplies, Bishop said.
The gunfire erupted in the parking lot of the bar between two motorcycle clubs, police said.
Three Warren police detectives spent between 6 and 17 hours helping with the investigation according to Warren police records.
The bar is about a half mile south of the Warren city limits and a short distance from another Warren Township tavern homicide from a few months ago.
