Cheslor Cuthbert singled home Lorenzo Cain in the 13th inning to lift the Royals to a win over the Tigers. The Royals won six of seven on their homestand and have the best home record in the American League at 25-8.

Twins 7, Yankees 4

MINNEAPOLIS

Ervin Santana pitched into the eighth inning to earn his first victory since May 14 and the Minnesota Twins beat the New York Yankees to avoid a four-game sweep. Eduardo Escobar’s two-run triple keyed a four-run sixth inning as the Twins snapped a five-game losing streak.

Orioles 11, Blue Jays 6

BALTIMORE

Matt Wieters homered and drove in four runs, and the Baltimore Orioles outslugged the Toronto Blue Jays to provide right-hander Chris Tillman with his ninth straight victory. Baltimore amassed a season-high 19 hits against Marcus Stroman (6-3) and five relievers in the deciding matchup of the three-game series between AL East contenders. Wieters went 4 for 5 with three doubles. Jonathan Schoop contributed a homer and three RBIs and Chris Davis had three hits and scored three runs.

Mariners 2, Red Sox 1

BOSTON

David Price snapped a personal three-game losing streak by pitching eight sharp innings, Mookie Betts hit a go-ahead homer and the Boston Red Sox beat the Seattle Mariners. Betts also had two singles for Boston, which won its second straight after losing four of five. Franklin Gutierrez hit a solo homer for the Mariners. He sparked their series-opening victory with two homers and six RBIs.

Angels 2, Athletics 0

OAKLAND, CALIF.

Jered Weaver bounced back from two rough starts to pitch three-hitter, and the Los Angeles Angels held on to beat the Oakland Athletics. Weaver (6-6) had given up 11 earned runs over his last 11 1/3 innings before helping the Angels to their fifth win in six games against the A’s this season. The right-hander had only one strikeout but faced just two over the minimum on the way to his first shutout since May 8, 2015.

NATIONAL LEAGUE

Diamondbacks 5, Phillies 1

PHILADELPHIA

Archie Bradley pitched six strong innings and drove in a run, leading the Arizona Diamondbacks to a victory over the Philadelphia Phillies. Jake Lamb had two hits and two RBIs for Arizona, which has won six of eight and will try for a sweep of the four-game series today.

Braves 6, Mets 0

NEW YORK

Julio Teheran tossed a one-hit masterpiece and did not allow any other baserunners, pitching the Atlanta Braves to a victory that capped a surprising three-game sweep of the scuffling New York Mets. Nick Markakis homered and drove in two runs for Atlanta, which has won five straight for the first time since the first five games of last season.

Marlins 3, Rockies 0

MIAMI

Tom Koehler pitched around six walks in six innings and three relievers combined for three perfect innings, helping the Miami Marlins beat the Colorado Rockies. Marcell Ozuna hit a three-run drive in the sixth inning for his 13th homer. The Marlins (37-32) climbed five games above .500 for the first time since May 8, 2014, and they’ll try for a four-game sweep Monday.

INTERLEAGUE

Rangers 5, Cardinals 4

ST. LOUIS

Jurickson Profar hit a two-run, bases-loaded pinch-hit single in the eighth, lifting the Texas Rangers to a victory over the St. Louis Cardinals. It was Profar’s first pinch-hit at-bat this season. Texas swept the three-game series and has won six in a row and eight of its last nine games. The Rangers are 14-4 this month and they improved to an MLB best 16-4 in one-run games this season. St. Louis has lost five in a row — all at home.

Astros 6, Reds 0

HOUSTON

Evan Gattis and Luis Valbuena homered, driving in two runs each, to help the Houston Astros win against the Cincinnati Reds. Mike Fiers (5-3) allowed four hits and struck out five in 5 2/3 scoreless innings. He left the game when Jay Bruce’s line drive hit him in the thigh for a single with two outs in the sixth.

Giants 5, Rays 1

ST. PETERSBURG, FLA.

Brandon Belt homered and Joe Panik snapped an eighth-inning tie with a RBI single, helping the San Francisco Giants beat the Tampa Bay Rays to extend their winning streak to a season-best eight games.
