Her husband, Ryan Stegenga, also a graduate of Case’s School of Medicine, has been accepted to an emergency medicine residency at MetroHealth in Cleveland.

HONORS

Richard Alan Modarelli Jr. of Struthers recently accepted membership in the National Society of Collegiate Scholars.

Membership gives students access to career and networking resources, scholarships, travel and service projects on campuses and the community.

NSCS is a member of the Association of College Honor Societies and is the nation’s only interdisciplinary honors organization for first- and second-year college students. Membership is invitation only, based on grade-point average and class standing.

Dr. Darrell Lynn Grace was recently a commencement speaker at the Osteopathic Medical School graduation at A.T. Still University of Mesa, Ariz., and received an honorary doctor of humane letters last month. The honorary degree is the highest honor the university confers.

Dr. Grace graduated from Youngstown State University with an associate degree in nursing and a bachelor’s degree in health sciences, and earned a doctorate from Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine. She also completed a one-year osteopathic heritage health policy fellowship from the New York Institute of Technology and Ohio University College of Osteopathic Medicine. She works as a hospitalist at St. Elizabeth Youngstown Hospital.

Dr. Grace focuses her attention on medical care and medical education for the homeless, and has raised funds and awareness throughout the United States and in Haiti. She volunteers at Hands of Hope, a free clinic for the underserved and uninsured in Warren, and serves on numerous boards.
