Man injured critically in stabbing at Youngstown bar today

The victim of an early morning stabbing today at the El Patron Bar at 1329 E. Indianola Ave. was taken to St. Elizabeth Youngstown Hospital’s trauma center with a chest wound, according to Youngstown Police Chief Robin R. Lees.

The male victim, estimated to be in his 40s, was in critical condition and undergoing surgery today. His identity was not released by police pending notification of his family. The stabbing was reported at 2:30 a.m.

The police investigation determined that the victim was stabbed during a fight at the bar. Detectives are interviewing witnesses and following up on leads.
