Shelly LaBerto of Boardman was recently installed as the 2016-2017 President of the Angels of Easter Seals. She is a graduate of Boardman High School and Youngstown State University.

LaBerto is general manager and restaurant marketing director for Chick-fil-A at Tiffany Square Plaza, and has worked for Chick-fil-A for 33 years.

She has served as past president and is a Paul Harris Fellow of Boardman Rotary and is past president of YSU Alumni Society.

As a child, she often visited the Easter Seals Center with a family member who was a client and grew up appreciating and admiring the work done by Easter Seals on behalf of children and adults with disabilities and special needs.

While a member of Angels of Easter Seals she has been chairman of Magic of an Angels Christmas three times and has been vice president, treasurer and participated in other fundraisers.

Other members of the 2016-2017 Angels of Easter Seals executive board include:

Georgeann Buonpane, first vice president;

Mary James Lipinsky, second vice president;

Joyce Dowell, treasurer;

June Diorio-Kretzer, recording secretary;

Ave Sofranko, corresponding secretary;

and Debbie Wilson, past president.

New members Katherine Alexander, Jacquelyn Burgan and Lorraine Fulks were welcomed.

Last year Angels raised $129,575 to aid local individuals with disabilities and special needs.

Dec. 7: Holiday brunch and Sweet Shoppe

May 4, 2017: Spring Fashion Show and Luncheon
