Salem man dies in Butler Township accident in Columbiana County


BUTLER — The Lisbon Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol said Friday a Salem man was killed about 11:25 a.m. today on U.S. Route 62.

A news release by the patrol said a a Jeep Cherokee driven by Paul Strawbridge, 77, of New Waterford, which was driving west on Route 62 in Butler Township and tried to turn left into a private drive when it collided with a pickup truck driving east on U.S. 62 driven by Stanley Miller, 68, of Salem.

Reports said Miller’s truck flipped onto its roof. Miller was not wearing a seat belt and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Strawbridge was taken to St. Elizabeth Youngstown Hospital. The crash is still under investigation.
