OVI checkpoints set for tonight, early Saturday in Austintown and Boardman

CANFIELD — The Mahoning Valley Operating a Vehicle Impaired Task Force, in partnership with the Ohio State Highway Patrol, will conduct two sobriety checkpoints tonight and Saturday.

A checkpoint at 4121 South Avenue in Boardman will run 10 p.m. tonight to 2 a.m. Saturday. Another checkpoint at 118 N. Canfield-Niles Road in Austintown will run 1 to 3 a.m. Saturday.

Additionally, officers will conduct saturation patrols throughout Mahoning County over the weekend.

The task force reminds motorists they need to make arrangements to get home safely if they plan to consume alcohol, according to a task force news release.
