LIBERTY
Trustees voted this week to send three five-year levy renewals to the Trumbull County Board of Elections for placement on November’s general-election ballot.
If approved by voters, renewal of 1-mill fire levy, first passed in 1992, would generate $171,174 annually and cost the owner of a $100,000 home $33.66 a year.
Renewal of a separate 2-mill fire levy, first passed in 2007, would generate $419,511 annually and cost the owner of a $100,000 home $70 a year.
Additionally, renewal of a 2-mill police levy, first passed in 2007, would generate $342,349 annually and cost the owner of a $100,000 home $67.33 a year.
Officials also finalized a list of four streets to be paved next year: Arms Drive between Logan Avenue and Greenbriar Drive; Euclid Avenue between Belmont and Hadley avenues; Parkwood Avenue between Liberty to Laurel streets; and Liberty Street between Eastlawn and Northlawn Drives.
The project’s total estimated cost is $325,000, said township Administrator Patrick Ungaro.
The township hopes to secure grant money for a portion of the project and finance the rest of the resurfacing using revenue from a five-year 1.25-mill road levy voters approved in 2012.
