CLASSES

Campbell Memorial High School Class of 1954 will meet for lunch at 1 p.m. Thursday at Bedford Trails Golf Course, 713 Bedford Road, Lowellville. Guests are welcome. Make reservations with Pat Cua, George or Betty Beelen or Loretta Vrable Bury.

South High School Class of 1953 will have a monthly luncheon at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday at Johnny’s in Boardman. All classmates and guests are welcome. No reservations are needed. Those interested in attending may call Ray Melewski at 330-792-2434. Plans for a summer picnic in July will be made.

Youngstown Torch Club will meet Monday for a dinner-discussion meeting at the Kilcawley Center, Bresnahan Rooms 1 and 2, at Youngstown State University. YSU President James P. Tressel will be the speaker. A social will begin at 5 p.m., with the lecture at 5:30 and dinner at 6. The business meeting will follow at 7. The public is invited to attend. That Quilt Group I Belong To will meet Tuesday at Fair Park in Canfield and will feature Emilie Illson, also known as The Button Lady. This meeting is the annual installation of officers with a potluck dinner. Taking office are Helen Lewis, president; Sandy Campbell, vice president; Mary Rose Norquist, treasurer; and Bonnie Naman, secretary. Guests are welcome. World War II Heritage Group will meet June 27 at A La Cart Catering on Route 62 in Canfield. Bill Koeckert of Cleveland, a member of the Special U.S. Army Investigative Unit involved in the conviction and execution of General Hideki Tojo, will speak. SUPPORT GROUPS

Alzheimer Network Family Support Group will meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Girard Free Library, 105 E. Prospect St. Family members and caregivers are welcome. All meetings are offered at no charge. For information call 330-788-9755.

F.O.C.U.S., a breast cancer support group, will meet at 6 p.m. Wednesday at Davidson’s Restaurant, 3636 Canfield Road, Cornersburg. All breast cancer survivors and caregivers are encouraged to attend.

NAMI Mahoning Valley will offer support groups for those who deal with mental illness. Family support groups, providing information for family members and friends of individuals with mental illness, are scheduled the first Thursday of each month in Trumbull County at 11 a.m. at the Girard Library, 105 E. Prospect St., and on the second Tuesday of each month in Mahoning County at 7 p.m. at the D & E Counseling Center, 142 Javit Court, Austintown. The Connection support group is available to adults living with a mental health diagnosis in order to promote self-disclosure in a safe, confidential environment. It is free and open to anyone with a mental health diagnosis. They meet for a day session at 1:30 p.m. each Thursday at the Community Center, 1344 Fifth Ave., Youngstown, and in the evenings at 6 p.m. on the second and fourth Thursday of each month at the D & E Center.
