CLASSES

Youngstown Torch Club will meet Monday for a dinner-discussion meeting at the Kilcawley Center, Bresnahan Rooms 1 and 2, at Youngstown State University. YSU President James P. Tressel will be the speaker. A social will begin at 5 p.m., with the lecture at 5:30 and dinner at 6. The business meeting will follow at 7. The public is invited to attend. That Quilt Group I Belong To will meet Tuesday at Fair Park in Canfield and will feature Emilie Illson, also known as The Button Lady. This meeting is the annual installation of officers with a potluck dinner. World War II Heritage Group will meet June 27 at A La Cart Catering on Route 62 in Canfield. Bill Koeckert of Cleveland, a member of the Special U.S. Army Investigative Unit involved in the conviction and execution of General Hideki Tojo, will speak. SUPPORT GROUPS

F.O.C.U.S., a breast cancer support group, will meet at 6 p.m. Wednesday at Davidson’s Restaurant, 3636 Canfield Road, Cornersburg. All breast cancer survivors and caregivers are encouraged to attend.

NAMI Mahoning Valley will offer support groups for those who deal with mental illness. Family support groups, providing information for family members and friends of individuals with mental illness, are scheduled the first Thursday of each month in Trumbull County at 11 a.m. at the Girard Library, 105 E. Prospect St., and on the second Tuesday of each month in Mahoning County at 7 p.m. at the D & E Counseling Center, 142 Javit Court, Austintown. The Connection support group is available to adults living with a mental health diagnosis in order to promote self-disclosure in a safe, confidential environment. It is free and open to anyone with a mental health diagnosis. They meet for a day session at 1:30 p.m. each Thursday at the Community Center, 1344 Fifth Ave., Youngstown, and in the evenings at 6 p.m. on the second and fourth Thursday of each month at the D & E Center.
