Robbery charge

YOUNGSTOWN

U.S. marshals arrested a Warren man wanted on a warrant for robbing the Dollar General, 2023 Market St., on Friday.

Robert Johnson, 50, of McMyler Street Southwest, was arrested about 2:30 p.m. Tuesday at his home and was booked into the Mahoning County jail on the robbery charge.

According to a police report, a man walked into the store about 6:30 p.m. Friday and held his hand under his shirt as if he had a gun and demanded money. The employee refused to give him anything. He walked out and got in a car which then drove away.

As city police were taking that report, they learned there was a similar robbery in Boardman minutes later, reports said.
