Matalco ribbon cutting celebrates collaboration


LORDSTOWN — Company owners, state and local representatives cut the ribbon to Lordstown’s new, state-of-the-art aluminum billet manufacturing facility, Matalco.

The Brampton, Ontario-based company’s 200,000-square-foot facility will make aluminum billets for the aluminum-extrusion industry at the Ohio Commerce Centre, 5120 Tod Ave. SW.

The plant will also include The Giampaolo Group’s other company, Triple M Metal LP, one of North America’s largest ferrous and non-ferrous metals recycling and processing operations.

Noted at the ribbon-cutting was there collaboration to bring Matalco’s investment here.

“Congratulations to all of you who had any part to play,” said Ohio Lt. Gov. Mary Taylor at the event.
