CANFIELD

The owners of Fairway Ford in Canfield have made their first expansion with a new used-vehicle lot.

“This is an opportunity to expand our used-car availability,” said Bob Davis, co-owner of Fairway Ford.

The Fairway Used Car Co., 560 W. Main St., opened last Thursday with more used-vehicle offerings for customers. It will have 50 to 60 used vehicles of every brand.

The Fairway Ford dealership, located just down the street from Fairway’s new used-vehicle dealership at 366 W. Main St., carries about 100 used vehicles.

Davis and his business partner, Paul Hrnchar, have owned Fairway Ford for 16 years.

“We bought it as a small Ford store, and over the period, we have grown to be the largest Ford dealer in Eastern Ohio and Western Pennsylvania,” Davis said.

Last year, Fairway Ford had its best year ever with 2,000 sales. It also was the industry’s best year ever with more than 17.47 million sales. This year’s auto sales are expected to be even better.

“So far, this year has been very good,” Davis said. “The market conditions and people’s confidence is similar to last year.”

The used-vehicle market is also “very good,” Davis said.

Six months ago, Davis and Hrnchar decided to expand the business and took over the vacant lot down the street for used vehicles.

A building already on the property was moderately renovated, and new asphalt was put down. Fairway also hired four new employees for the location.

“The advantage we have here is every car will be hand-selected,” Davis said. “We have four different people who are buying cars for us. We buy them mainly from other dealers.”

The dealership has a range of vehicles from sport utilities to sports cars on the lot.

The vehicles are all serviced and come with a warranty, Davis said.
