AAUW donates to YWCA summer camps

SPECIAL TO THE VINDICATOR The American Association of University Women-Youngstown Branch recently gave a check for summer camp scholarships to the YWCA to help girls advance their education and self-development. Representatives present for the donation were, from left, Denise Walters Dobson, AAUW second vice president; Kathie Nalepa, AAUW treasurer; Jorine Stone, AAUW president; Jennie Andrews, YWCA program manager; and Regina Jenkins, AAUW secretary. This year, YWCA summer camps offered to both boys and girls will focus on manufacturing, hip-hop dance, art, anti-bullying and self-defense, and computers with Make Your Own App and Raspberry Pi camps offered in conjunction with the Oakhill Collaborative.
