Boy Scout celebration of scouting breakfast is June 28

The public is invited to the Whispering Pines District Greater Western Reserve Council Boy Scouts of America’s 11th annual Celebration of Scouting Breakfast fundraiser from 7:30 until 9 a.m. June 28 at the Holiday Inn, 7410 South Ave.

Attendees will include individuals from area businesses, community leaders and those who believe in the Scouting program. Participants will be introduced to lessons Scouts learn for life, along with Scout traditions.

The Whispering Pines District of the Greater Western Reserve Boy Scout Council serves families in Mahoning County and Hubbard, with 1,429 youth and adult volunteers in traditional programming. Scoutreach is a program that serves underprivileged youths in city school systems with 717 Cub Scouts that are being served in the Youngstown City School system.

Sponsorships are available, and include Eagle, $5,000, which sponsors 32 Scouts for one year; Tenderfoot, $2,500, which sponsors 16 Scouts for one year; Webelos, $1,500, which sponsors eight Scouts for one year; Tiger Cub, $750, which sponsors four Scouts for one year; and Other, where participants can consider a gift in multiples of $158, to support one or more Scouts.
