Mahoning Valley Amateur Radio operators will demonstrate emergency communications skills to the public June 25 and June 26 at Mill Creek MetroParks Farm.

Radio operators from the Mahoning Valley Amateur Radio Association from noon June 25 until 2 p.m. June 26 will show the public how amateur radio or ham radio responds to public communications needs in times of emergencies. Ham operators will set up multiple stations at the Mill Creek MetroParks Farm, on Route 46 across from the Canfield Fairgrounds, and operate for 24 hours on power supplied from stand-alone generators, batteries and solar power. This free event is a fun way for the public to see how amateur radio can quickly provide emergency communications in times of need.
