Vet Day Camp set
ELLWOOD CITY, Pa.
The Ellwood Animal Hospital, 728 Lawrence Ave., Ellwood City, Pa., will offer its 12th annual Junior Vet Day Camp for kids age 6 to 15 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesday and June 21. The camp offers a unique, behind-the-scenes look at life in a busy veterinary clinic. Children have the opportunity to see and do some of the same things veterinarians do every day to help keep pets healthy, diagnose disease and treat illnesses. They can participate in one or both sessions.
The Ellwood and Chippewa Animal Hospitals and Cranberry Holistic Pet Care offer medical, dental and surgical care for companion animals, along with acupuncture, chiropractic, physical therapy and regenerative medicine. For more information, call 724-758-8882.
Farm programs
MERCER, PA.
Munnell Run Farm, 753 Greenville Road, will host programs for children 5 to 8 years old from 10 to 11:30 a.m. Wednesdays throughout the summer.
Each program has a different focus that highlights unique aspects of the farm, and will include a story time, activity, outdoor adventure and snack.
The first program will be offered June 22, and the theme will be “Down on the Farm.” The importance of farming will be highlighted. Cows will be discussed, and students will be invited to milk a 2-D cow Bessie, ride a farm wagon and make homemade ice cream with an old-fashioned churn.

The Mahoning County District of the St. Vincent de Paul Society, 208 W. Front St., will have a blessing and rededication of the downtown dining hall at 3 p.m. Thursday.
Event postponed
YOUNGSTOWN
The groundbreaking for YWCA of Youngstown’s new five-unit property on Kensington Ave., originally scheduled for 10 a.m. Wednesday, has been postponed. The groundbreaking will be rescheduled soon, YWCA officials said in a news release.
