Field day on aggressive weeds is June 23

The Mahoning County Extension Office will host a weed field day from 10:30 a.m. until 1 p.m. June 23 at Dean Mar Farms, 11440 Palmyra Road, to inform local farmers of weeds that can be found in their fields and what to do with them.

The event is sponsored by Greier Agricultural Center in Canfield.

Mark Loux, professor of horticulture and crop science at Ohio State University, will present the topics of weed identification, weed-control actions and Palmer Amaranth, an aggressive weed.

The cost of $10 provides lunch and various handouts that Loux will distribute.

Participants are asked to fill out the registration form and return it to the Mahoning County Extension office, 490 S. Broad St., Canfield.
