Cortland Street Fair begins Thursday

Just Pizzelles and Cortland Dairy Queen will sponsor a pizzelle ice-cream-sandwich-eating contest at 6 p.m. Friday during the Cortland Street Fair on the Main Stage on West Main Street.

The street fair begins Thursday and runs through Saturday.

Contestants will race to see who can finish five pizzelle ice-cream sandwiches in the fastest time.

The winner takes home a trophy, a year’s supply of pizzelles from Just Pizzelles, a baker’s dozen pack per month for 12 months, and a half-year supply of ice-cream novelty treats from Cortland Dairy Queen, one box of novelties per month for six months.

Registration is $5 per contestant with all proceeds benefiting the Cortland Area Cares Food Pantry.

Registration is open to anyone 8 and older, and the deadline is 7 p.m. Thursday.

There will be a food drive sponsored by Just Pizzelles.

Stop by the Just Pizzelles booth any time during the street fair weekend to donate nonperishable goods, or make a monetary donation for Cortland Area Cares Food Pantry and be entered in a contest to win a prize.
