The GFWC Ohio Boardman-Poland Junior Women’s League recently welcomed new members Joyce Martin and Roseanne Winner. They were installed at a candlelight ceremony May 10 at Selah’s Restaurant by Linda Crish, GFWC Ohio First Vice President. Special guest was Deidre DaVore, GFWC Ohio Director of Junior Clubs.

Recipients of the funds raised through the 2015 Quarter Auction were Project Learning Around the World, The Together Journey, Friends of Fido, Ed Port, The Rescue Mission and Southside Fine Arts Academy. Each received $200. Sister Anne, a representative of Dorothy Day House, was presented with a check for $1,305 earned from the Downton Abbey Farewell Tea that took place in March. Two students were given $750 for a Washington D.C. trip.

The Boardman-Poland Junior Women’s League is open to all women over 18 who live in Mahoning, Trumbull or Columbiana counties who are interested in friendship, fun and community involvement. Its mission is to provide a creative outlet for women in their communities in the areas of arts, conservation, education, home life, international affairs and public affairs.
