Arrest: Brian V. Gray, 54, of Lee Avenue, Youngstown, was arrested near a police checkpoint on South Avenue and charged with operating a vehicle impaired. Gray’s blood-alcohol count was 0.160, double Ohio’s 0.08 legal intoxication limit, a report showed.
Arrest: A traffic stop near South Avenue resulted in the arrest of 23-year-old Brandon M. Davis of West Midlothian Boulevard, Youngstown. Davis was wanted on a city warrant accusing him of failing to appear in court on a disorderly-conduct charge.
Theft: Two men reportedly took two portable generators and a $329 leaf blower from Home Depot, 7001 Southern Blvd., costing the business $1,529.
Theft: A man reportedly stole a $150 leather book bag from T.J. Maxx & More, 717 Boardman-Poland Road.
Auto theft: A 2016 Chevrolet Cruze was stolen at a restaurant in the 1300 block of Boardman-Poland Road.
Stolen property: After pulling them over near South Avenue, authorities charged Curtis M. Burton and Allen T. Grier, both 44 and of Akron, with one felony count of receiving stolen property. Earlier, police received information that someone had fled from Southern Park Mall security personnel and, during the traffic stop, found several trash bags containing numerous articles of clothing thought to have been stolen from Sears and other mall stores, a report showed.
Theft: A woman in her 30s reportedly stole a $3 bottle of hair gel from Hair Depot, 4026 Market St.
Arrest: The Columbiana County Sheriff’s Department handed to township police 41-year-old Aaran (ok, not Aaron. It’s a woman) A. Smith of Winona Road, Salem, who was wanted on warrants charging her with one count each of telecommunications harassment and aggravated menacing. Earlier this month, a Hudson Drive woman reported having received multiple harassing text messages, and alleged Smith had threatened to beat her up and kill her, a report stated.
Theft: A Struthers woman noticed her wallet missing while at a Doral Drive big-box store.
May 22
Arrest: Authorities charged 30-year-old Brittany E. Anness of Canavan Drive, Poland, with operating a vehicle impaired after having stopped her car near Interstate 680 and U.S. Route 224.
Attempted theft: A Campbell woman told police a man in his 40s had tried to take her purse before fleeing from a Tiffany Boulevard grocery store.
Drugs: Officers in the 6100 block of South Avenue took into custody 28-year-old Lisa M. Griffin and charged her with one felony count each of tampering with evidence and drug abuse as well as one misdemeanor count each of drug abuse and possession of drug paraphernalia. Griffin, of Hudson Avenue, Youngstown, had a folded dollar bill, inside of which was suspected heroin, a cut straw with suspected heroin residue and four pieces of suspected marijuana; she also tried to tamper with the bill, a report said.
Theft: A Youngstown man noticed his wallet missing while at a township movie theater.
Theft: A Bessemer, Pa., woman reported $140 stolen from her wallet while at a Doral Drive big-box store.
Arrest: William D. Huddleston of Chain School Road, East Palestine, was charged with operating a vehicle impaired after having been pulled over near a Tiffany Boulevard motel. The 52-year-old Huddleston’s blood-alcohol count was 0.163, a report stated.
Criminal damaging: Someone used a paint marker to draw on and do an estimated $240 in damage to a vehicle in the 1800 block of Lemont Drive.
Theft: A man reportedly took $40 worth of fishing lures from Walmart, 1300 Doral Drive.
Arrests: Authorities responded to two suspicious males on bicycles at a Boardman-Poland Road eatery, where they charged two Youngstown boys, 15 and 16, with felony vandalism, attempted grand theft of a motor vehicle and receiving stolen property after the teens were reportedly found with a key fob to a Jeep. A short time later, a truck driver who was transporting the Jeep and several other vehicles discovered property, including the key devices, missing and that a knife had been used to slice a tie-down strap, which could have resulted in a vehicle falling from the truck during transport, he told police.
Domestic violence: A 15-year-old township boy was charged with the crime after his mother alleged the teen had grabbed and squeezed her wrists, then pushed her backward during an argument that apparently began when the boy became angered, yelling at other family members, after someone sat in his seat.
Drugs: A traffic stop near Lemans Drive resulted in a minor-misdemeanor citation charging 32-year-old Madison H. Colman of Woodview Drive, Youngstown, with drug possession. Colman, who also was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia, had 1 gram of suspected marijuana and a digital scale with suspected marijuana residue, police alleged.
Arrest: Authorities on Indianola Road pulled over and took into custody Shawn V. Moreland of Akron upon learning the 24-year-old man was wanted on a felony warrant from that city. Moreland also was handed a minor-misdemeanor citation charging him with marijuana possession.

Assault: An Austintown woman alleged her boyfriend had grabbed and threatened her as she drove in the 8100 block of Market Street.
Arrest: Joseph S. Maderitz, 47, was charged with violating a protection order after police alleged Maderitz, of North Hazelwood Avenue, Youngstown, was at his estranged wife’s Hunting Valley Drive home, in violation of the order.
Identity fraud: A Tudor Lane woman found out her bank card had been used in a Harrison, Ohio, store to make an unauthorized $320 transaction.
Theft: Youngstown State University police relinquished custody of Ishia M. Milledge, 29, to township authorities. Milledge of Fairmont Avenue, Youngstown, faced a felony-theft charge, accused of stealing a Poland man’s wallet May 12 while he was in a Boardman-Poland Road store.
Theft: A customer who borrowed a $6,000 lawn mower from Agnew Farm Equipment, 7700 Market St., reportedly refused to return the item.
Identity theft: A Meadowbrook Avenue man found two unauthorized charges on his debit-card statement that totaled $139.
Thefts: Items, including jewelry, medication, credit and debit cards, were removed from several vehicles on Rosewood Drive.
Theft: A Melbourne Avenue man reported a .38-caliber revolver missing from his car.
Burglary: To an apartment in the 4000 block of Hillman Way after someone had removed a screen and entered through a front window. Stolen was a $400 laptop computer.
Theft: A wallet was taken from a vehicle in the 100 block of Melbourne Avenue.
May 24
Arrest: Bruce R. Vincent, 57, of Crystal Drive, Boardman, was pulled over near Glenwood Avenue and taken into custody on a charge of failing to appear in court.
Theft: Terry L. Johnson, 26, of Hillcrest Drive, Lake Milton, and 34-year-old Richard L. Hawkes of North Randolph Street, Girard, were charged with taking five Sony PlayStation 4 games and a PlayStation controller from Walmart.
Citation: Police issued 51-year-old John S. Marlin of West Western Reserve Road, Poland, a minor-misdemeanor citation charging him with being intoxicated in public after having received information that an intoxicated person was leaving a Southern Park Mall restaurant.
Assault: A Firnley Avenue man told police he was struck on the left side of his face at his residence; the other person reported the accuser was drunk and had fallen.
Theft: A $600 refrigerator and an oven were removed from a residence in the 60 block of Indianola Road.
Domestic violence: Gerald T. Aaron, 42, of South Avenue, Boardman, faced charges of simple assault and making domestic-violence threats after his girlfriend alleged Aaron had threatened her with serious bodily harm. After having overheard the threat while on the phone with the victim and fearing for her safety, her son came to the residence, where Aaron struck and held him down, a report showed.
Theft: A woman reportedly stole various health and beauty products as well as a bottle of antifreeze from Family Dollar, 4030 Market St.
Theft: Roy D. Schimpf, 34, who listed addresses on East Prospect Street in Girard and Rhoda Avenue in Youngstown, was charged with theft and possession of drug paraphernalia after 13 items, including a flashlight, were stolen from Dollar Tree, 541 Boardman-Poland Road. Schimpf, who also was wanted on a Girard warrant, had a suspected crack-cocaine pipe, a report stated.
Drug paraphernalia: Police near Route 224 pulled over and charged Tareana J. Butler, 29, of Gladstone Street, Youngstown, and 48-year-old John D. Druzisky of Jaguar Drive, Boardman, with possession of drug paraphernalia after alleging two suspected crack-cocaine pipes were found. Druzisky also was charged with operating a vehicle impaired.
Theft: A temporary license plate was stolen off a car in the 800 block of Cook Avenue.
Theft: A man in his late teens reportedly stole two pairs of polo sweatpants from Macy’s in Southern Park Mall.

Criminal damaging: Two men in an altercation with each other reportedly damaged three bushes surrounding a sign at a business in the 8100 block of Market Street. Damage was estimated at $375.
Theft: A man reported a .45-caliber handgun missing from his Edenridge Drive home.
May 27
Arrest: A traffic stop near Brookwood Road resulted in the arrest of 56-year-old Ruby L. Scott, who listed addresses on Erskine Avenue in Boardman and Hunter Street in Youngstown. Scott was wanted on a Youngstown warrant charging aggravated trespassing.
Burglary: To a garage in the 7500 block of Huntington Drive. Three gift cards were removed from a vehicle inside.
Theft: A Poland woman discovered a book bag and her wallet missing from her car in the 6100 block of Market Street.
Burglary: To a first-floor apartment in the 7300 block of East Huntington Drive through a rear sliding-glass door. A $400 iPad device was taken.
Domestic violence: Austintown police handed to township authorities 28-year-old Michael A. Williams of Fairfax Street, Youngstown, who was wanted on one count each of felonious assault and domestic violence. A Youngstown man alleged that while at St. Elizabeth Boardman Hospital, Williams took a set of house keys from him and when the accuser followed Williams to his vehicle in an effort to get them back, Williams accelerated toward the victim, forcing him to jump out of the way.
Theft: Jeremy S. Adams, 32, of Elk Road, Canfield, was charged with stealing five $8 fishing lures from Walmart, 1300 Doral Drive.
Arrests: After responding to a possible fight at a U.S. Route 224 fast-food restaurant and pulling over a car nearby, authorities charged 20-year-old Brett A. Irwin with operating a vehicle impaired after saying Irwin, of Eisenhower Drive, Boardman, had a 0.167 blood-alcohol count, slightly more than double Ohio’s 0.08 legal intoxication limit. Also, police charged 20-year-old Taylor J. Hassey of Lynn Road, Canfield, with underage possession of alcohol.
Theft: Michelle L. Rafferty, 33, of Patricia Drive, Girard, faced charges of theft and possession of criminal tools after numerous pairs of boys and girls shorts as well as T-shirts were stolen from Gabriel Bros., 850 Boardman-Poland Road. Rafferty also used a pair of wire cutters to cut the security tags from many of the items, a report said.
Stolen property: Police at St. Elizabeth Youngstown Hospital picked up Justin W. Covan of Poland Avenue, Struthers, who was wanted on one felony receiving-stolen-property charge and one misdemeanor count of misuse of a credit card. The 25-year-old Covan’s charges relate to an April 29 incident in which a Youngstown man discovered his wallet missing while at a township store and that his credit cards had been used without authorization.
Theft: David B. Regina, 58, and Carla M. Fox, 59, both of Greenwood Street, Youngstown, were charged in the theft of $384 worth of groceries from Giant Eagle, 1201 Doral Drive.
May 28
Burglary: Two men in their 40s reportedly entered a residence in the 50 block of Brookwood Road via the front door and, when a neighbor confronted the two, they fled in a white pickup truck.
Theft: A woman noticed her purse missing while at a store in the 200 block of Boardman-Canfield Road.
Aggravated menacing: A Wolosyn Circle man alleged a former co-worker had sent him two text messages, including one containing a threat to kill him.
Theft: A woman reported her $949 iPhone stolen while at a Market Street gas station.
Theft: Bonnie J. McAllister, 59, of Eighth Street, Struthers, was charged, accused of stealing $16 worth of merchandise from Marc’s, 7121 Tiffany Blvd.
Menacing: A Ferncliff Avenue woman told officers her former boyfriend has been sending numerous unwanted gifts to her residence as well as a bouquet of flowers to her place of employment. He also sent a T-shirt with an ominous message, she reported.

Arson: An Applecrest Court woman alleged her boyfriend intentionally set fire to some of her clothing that were in a kitchen sink.
Burglary: While responding to a possible break-in at a home in the 3900 block of Arden Boulevard, authorities charged 42-year-old Leon C. Reynolds of Westchester Drive, Austintown, with burglary and domestic violence after his former girlfriend alleged Reynolds had tried to break down a rear door to the residence. He also grabbed and pushed the accuser into a backyard fence, leaving marks on her left arm and leg, a report showed.
Theft: A Hitchcock Road man noticed $35, a cellphone and other items missing from his car.
Criminal damaging: A Poland woman alleged a man broke her vehicle’s windshield-wiper arm during a fight between them at his Pine Hill Drive home.
Theft: James C. Gurney, 51, of Market Street, Boardman, was charged with taking an $8 bottle of vodka from Save-a-Lot, 223 Boardman-Canfield Road.
Theft: An Arden Boulevard man discovered a .40-caliber pistol missing from his vehicle.
Assault: A Struthers man reported having been struck in the face during an altercation at a Leighton Avenue residence when he tried to intervene in an argument between two other people.
May 30
Arrest: Authorities picked up Paul D. Bonner of West Judson Avenue, Youngstown, who was charged with obstructing official business. The 30-year-old Bonner, who also was wanted on a Liberty Township warrant, was accused of using his brother’s identity Sept. 12, 2014, to avoid receiving a citation, a report stated.
Theft: Thomas A. Tenney, 55, of Keefer Road, Liberty, was charged with stealing a $22 tube of moisturizing lotion from Macy’s in Southern Park Mall.
Weapon: After pulling him over on U.S. Route 224, police charged 29-year-old Matthew R. Desha with one felony count of carrying a concealed weapon and one misdemeanor count of possession of drug paraphernalia. A search of the North Ridgeville, Ohio, man’s car turned up a loaded 9 mm handgun and three additional loaded magazines, along with straws with suspected drug residue and other contraband, a report said.
Criminal damaging: An officer on routine patrol in the 100 block of Rockland Drive reported seeing wet paint on a vehicle’s windshield and hood, along with an empty 1-gallon paint can near the car.
Theft: A Jennette Drive woman reported her 12-year-old son’s cellphone stolen when he visited a friend.
Theft: A township woman noticed her wallet missing while at a business in the 200 block of Boardman-Canfield Road.
Criminal damaging: A Sugartree Drive man told officers someone tampered with a cable line to his air-conditioning unit, rendering it inoperable.
Theft: An Oakley Avenue woman reported a grave marker was stolen from a Market Street cemetery.
Robbery: Police on a traffic stop arrested 36-year-old Maria A. Carkido of Texas Avenue, McDonald, on charges of robbery, obstructing official business and possession of criminal tools, drug-abuse instruments and drug paraphernalia, as well as 30-year-old Louis M. Polois Jr. of McDonald Avenue, McDonald, on charges of complicity to robbery and the same two drug offenses after three $60 Sony PlayStation 3 controllers were stolen from Best Buy, 561 Boardman-Poland Road. Store employees alleged Carkido, whom police said provided a phony name and date of birth, also had fought with them. In addition, two spoons with burn marks common in drug use and four syringes were found, a report stated.
Identity fraud: A Rockland Drive woman found three unauthorized credit-card charges that totaled $663.
Theft: A Sony PlayStation 4 game console, $250 and several PlayStation 4 games were removed from a car in the 6000 block of Applecrest Court.
Theft: A Struthers woman reported shopping bags containing about $100 worth of merchandise were stolen while she was at Southern Park Mall.
