Mahoning County Grand Jury indicts 25


YOUNGSTOWN — A Mahoning County grand jury Thursday indicted 25 people including Ralph Goad, 52, of South Elm Street in Columbiana, on seven counts of burglary, all second-degree felonies; five counts of breaking and entering, all fifth-degree felonies; and a single third-degree felony count of breaking and entering.

Goad has been in the county jail since his May 26 arrest by Austintown police after reports said he was discovered trying to break into a bar at the corner of Raccoon and New roads. Goad is also suspected in several burglaries in Columbiana County.

The grand jury also indicted Devin Lamont Towns, 41, Lakewood Circle, on illegal conveyance of prohibited items onto the grounds of a detention facility, trafficking in cocaine and possession of cocaine with forfeiture specifications.

On May 3, reports say officers found five bindles of suspected heroin, 11 rocks of suspected crack cocaine and a 9mm semiautomatic pistol with 14 rounds in the magazine in a vehicle where Towns was a passenger.

The grand jury also indicted Marvin Reese, 24, Lansdowne Boulevard, on failure to comply with the order or signal of a police officer, domestic violence and failure to stop after an accident.
