Mahoning commissioners approve details for upcoming summer festivals

YOUNGSTOWN — The Mahoning County commissioners voted this morning to close Kennedy Road between Quarry Road and the Lowellville village limit from July 13-16 for the 121st annual Mount Carmel Celebration.

They also approved sponsorship grants of $1,000 each from county hotel bed-tax revenues for the Youngstown State University Summer Festival of the Arts July 9 and 10 and for marketing support for the Youngstown Wine and Jazz Festival at 7:30 p.m. July 9 in Central Square in the city’s downtown.
