Denny's employees in Boardman face charges

BOARDMAN — A pair of Denny's employees face charges of drug abuse and possession of drug paraphernalia after being caught in the restaurant's parking lot Wednesday night, according to a police report.

Police identified the two as Darrnell Gibson, 29, of Schenley Avenue, and Frederick Allen, 37, of Judson Avenue.

According to a police report, the men were found in a car in the parking lot of the Denny's located on Boardman-Canfield Road. The car reportedly gave off a strong odor of marijuana and the officer ordered them out of the vehicle.

Police searched them and the vehicle, finding a marijuana grinder full of suspected marijuana and a bag of pills later identified as Oxazepam, a prescription drug used to treat anxiety. Both men were released on a summons to appear in Mahoning County Area Court here.
